BACK! this holiday was a really action-packed one. it was more of a walking and running holiday than a sightseeing holiday. because this time round we didnt rent a car nor did we follow a tour group. and going on a winter hoiday with 6 luggages and no vehicle is just crazy! we had to take public transport all the way. (
talk about singapore's mrt being overcrowded, wait till you see japan's one) we kind of looked likie total jokes when we were traveling to the ski resort. 4 dumplings lugging 6 luggages through the station. once i was carrying my bagpack and a humongous luggage bag and when i saw the escalator i was like FINALLY! and i happily got on to it while my brother and dad took the other escalator. and then suddenly halfway through the jokes escalator just decided to STOP. and so obviously i also STOPPED right in the middle of the escalator. then all the japanese just went "moshi moshi!" and started walking their way up. and i just stood there like a total gundu not knowing what to do. so in the end i had to carry the humongous thing all the way down and take the other escalator. and obviously by then everyone was staring at me like i was some superstar.
but our hard work paid off! we went skiing for the next 2 days! (my mom chickened out though) got a jap instructor for 2 hours on the first day. communication was a real problem. then when we went up to ski our very first course, the entire course was covered with clouds. it was like a WHITE OUT la! we couldnt see beyond 5m! it was so freaky, like you dont even know where on earth you're going and how steep the slope is coz its the first time you're trying this course! then the instructor skied down first and stopped halfway and said "come on come one!" and i was standing there like a chicken not daring to go down hahaha. and so it was like that for the entire course. he'd go first and stop halfway then we'd follow him. but by the time he stopped he was so far away i couldnt even see him! so everytime it was my turn to go i'd just say "God bless me" and go down. hahahah! but soon the clouds cleared and it was soooo much clearer! and so when the instructor left we continued the same course on our own. it was cool! coz you get to ski and enjoy the scenery at the same time. mt naeba!
on the first day we skied a total of 14 rounds of that course then my dad said we should try something more challenging aka the snake course which takes you all the way back down to the ski resort.
dad: aye lets go try this course! looks quite easy!
me: it LOOKS easy but i bet you when you go there you won't dare to go down!
dad: nvm la! as long as you ski in an "S" shape then can alrdy!
me: are you sure
dad: yea come lets go!
and so we went to that course for the first time. and that was the last time we tried that course too. HAHA. WE TUMBLED ALL THE WAY DOWN. ok fine. we didn't tumble all the way down. i fell down once (not bad eh!) and my dad fell down...err...multiple times xD
after the snake course...
me: aye that was quite fun lets do it again!
dad: eh i think better not la very scary leh...
HAHAH! i wouldn't have mind trying it again k! =(
then after that went tokyo city to do SHOPPING! and then flew to hong kong. but we had a FLIGHT DELAY. we were almost ready to take off then suddenly the entire plane engine turned off and the pilot said that the right engine of the plane was SPOILT. woah then first they said they needed one hour to fix the engine so we had to remain in the plane. then later they said we had to disembark coz it'd take longer than expected. and so we got stuck in the plane for one and a half hours. and the surprising thing was that the entire plane was quiet throughout this whole thing. no grumbling at all. and my mom says thats coz japanese are calm and polite ppl. if it was a plane of singaporeans the whole plane would start grumbling. and so we, the only singaporean family, kept quiet too x)so anyway, in total we got delayed for 6 hours. (2 more hours short of claiming insurance heh). woah so we had half a day less to shop in hongkong! baaah. well but at least its much better than the plane taking off halfway and then the engine spoils. HOHO. if that happened this post wouldnt be up here today. it'd probably be an obituary post instead. so THANK GOD =)
anyway we finally arrived in hk and had one and a half days to shop. not bad la. (AND I SAW A WATCH ADVERTISING POSTER OF RAIN AND EUNHYE! HEEE!) then on the last day we were getting ready to board the taxi and were all busy loading luggages. then suddenly someone tapped me from behind and i thought my mom wanted me to help her with smth so i turned around and OHMYWORD IT WAS VIVIAN! hahahah i almost died of shock la! we were staying in the same hotel! XD oh and we were in japan and hk during the same period. how cool is that man.
wahaha. anyway, didn't really take much photos this trip. but here are some of them:
